I haven't actually added up the retail value of everything in my current gym, and quite frankly I don't want to. However Given the sheer number of pieces, bars, weights and other items, it's safe to say it's closing in on $100k. That being said, most of this is over inflated specialized equipment based off my likes. You can spend less than $1000 and still have a kick ass space. Tour with Glucks...

    Hey Brandon! As far as I can tell, the only machined plates you can get in Europe are the SQMIZE Olympic Legacy Plates. I believe they are the exact same plates as the Rogue Olympic Machined Plates - just in KG. The appearance and width are exactly the same, for example. However, SQMIZE plates have two small drawbacks: the 20 kg plates have a diameter of 445 mm, and the center hole has a diameter of 51 mm (2"). Would that be a dealbreaker for you, or do you think other than them being loud, it shouldn't be too bad? They are reasonably priced, and they have a weight tolerance of just +/- 1%. Would love to hear your thoughts, thanks! I'll get my entire home gym setup from SQMIZE (rack, bars and flooring), so it would be cool have a one stop shop.

    • @MJA89
      @MJA89 День тому

      By the way, my other option would be the Strength Shop Riot Cast Iron Plates, which have a diameter of 450 mm, a 50,3 mm center and a weight tolerance of +/- 2%. The SS plates are a bit cheaper even considering shipping, but of course I would have to deal with another shipment. And getting heavy gym equipment shipped is kind of a pain here in Austria.

    Realise this is an old video, and being in New Zealand, at the end of the world, finding steels that are 450mm diameter is actually more expensive as the only ones that are 450mm are the calibrated plates, i.e Eleiko or Hansu, which are significantly more expensive than lower quality comp bumpers.

    I've had a black zinc Ohio bar for probably close to a decade now - it's had pretty good use in my garage the whole time and even though the coating is wearing off A LITTLE, it's still in good shape and zero oxidation/rust. The summers are hot and sometimes pretty humid but again, ZERO oxidation.
